The suddenly ubiquitous passion for paper work could be arised of the economy crises respectively the lack of money for more sophisticated design material. Or maybe just out of a fancy flirt with the new opulence.


However, what started one year ago with a white paperflower paradise as the decoration of the Chanel Haute Couture show evolves into a notably trend.

Irving Harper, a marquee name from that golden age of American industrial design, explains his choice to work with paper with his fascination for working within limits.


“You know, if you look at Mozart, who had this strict classical framework — an allegro, an andante, a scherzo and a finale — you see that within that formula, he got results he might never have gotten if he had all the options in the world.”
