Apple's iPad is expected to help media companies and vice versa

Smart print publishers like The New York Times adapted their newspaper format already to the new Apple iPad's application. First of all because this new iBook-technology is compatible with the fee required iTunes apps.

But also, because "If you're a publisher who lives and dies by what your content looks like, you want to be talking to Apple now; any other digital distribution is going to look very last decade," wrote Yankee Group analyst Carl Howe in a blog after spending a few minutes using the tablet device.

Condé Nast and Hearst also recognised this silver lining on the horizon and showed strong interest for the apps.

Wonky Pop: Pop with an Attitude
Video 'Symphonies' by British artist Dan Black was released as the U.S. iTunes single of the week for the week of December 28, 2009

BBC describes the raising Wonky-Pop as involving "cutting-edge pop, dance, hip hop and everything in between - meaning probably Rap, Caribean and Electronic elements. Just what the young a-bit-of-here-a-bit-of-there-generation likes - as long as it is not mainstream. Also to see in the visual language of the videos.

One of the reasons for the great success of the first wonky poppers is the marketing overdose in a pop musicians career. Anita Blay 'thecocknbullkid' said in an interview on ARTE TV today, she had so enough of working all the time on her image for beeing someone else. The result is a fresh flavour of authenticity and D.I.Y. hitting the music world...

At the launch of Maison Martin Margiela's perfume "line 3" - 'Untitled' the scent could be testet on a natural white feather.
This perfume includes of course the codes of the brand and looks and smells very green. It is produced without any synthetics. This week it will be sold exclusive at Colette in Paris.

It seems that Shanghai is becoming the go-to spot for the world’s top fashion brands, not only for new customers but for inspiration as well.

This week, Prada released a short film made in partnership with the Chinese contemporary artist Yang Fudong, one of the country’s most renowned photographers.

Recently the latest chapter of the Alfred Hitchcock-inspired 'Lady Dior' commercial was shot by Lynch in Shanghai.

Both campaigns are part of the movie trend in fashion and beauty, with many labels no longer settling for commercial ads and telling stories instead, often in several episodes.

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) realized an architectural and technical concept, creating a crystalline body with remote-controlled energy management from a computer at the ETH in Zurich. The energy needed for heating water and air come from solar collectors. The sewage is micro filtered on a bacterial basis and the resulting greywater is reused for flushing and cleaning purposes.

Westfield Service

In it's first year of operation, Westfield London, the biggest city centre shopping mall in Europe, exceeded footfall forecasts by 15 per cent to reach almost 23 million.

This success should be attributed to a combination of factors, says the Group - the first in Europe to bring luxury to a shopping centre: 30% of sales are coming from outside Europe, including China, Russia, the Middle East and Africa.

Unexpected facts which have enabled luxury brands to touch other new customers. Or leaded Louis Vuitton and the Westfield Group to become international teaming partners on numerous occasions, "and the success of Westfield London further strengthens this relationship", adds Philippe Schaus, Senior Vice President International Louis Vuitton.
